Service Description

Second session – Engobe decorating After the first session, you can finish your work using engobes (colored clay slips). You’ll learn simple techniques such as brushing, layering, sgraffito, and pattern work, and you can refine surfaces before the final firing. This course is suitable for beginners as well as for those who want develop their skills further. Pieces need time to dry and be fired twice, so they cannot be taken home the same day. Firing times depend on the drying process and current kiln availability. First firing turns the clay to actual ceramics, second firing makes the ceramics fully resistant for daily use. You will be informed when your ceramic is ready for collection or sending. Approximat times vary between 4-6 weeks. Sending costs are not included in the activity price. Up to 5 participants can book this class online; for larger groups, please send us an email so we can arrange a suitable time.
